About

The Department of Pharmacology explores the intricate relationship between drugs and the body. It investigates the mechanisms of drug action at the molecular, cellular, and organ system levels. Students learn about pharmacokinetics (how the body handles drugs) and pharmacodynamics (how drugs affect the body). They study the effects of drugs on different physiological systems, including the cardiovascular, nervous, and endocrine systems.

Pharmacology also covers drug toxicity, adverse effects, and drug interactions. Through lectures, laboratory experiments, and research projects, students develop a comprehensive understanding of how drugs can be used to treat diseases and improve health. Research within the department often focuses on discovering new drug targets and developing novel therapeutic strategies.

Graduates can pursue careers in drug development, clinical research, regulatory affairs, and academia, contributing to the advancement of pharmaceutical science and healthcare.
