Workshop on Design of Experiments(DoE):Principles, Application and Hands-on Training for Research Optimization

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, SDM College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dharwad, organized a Guest Lecture and Workshop on Quality by Design (QbD) to enhance students' understanding of modern pharmaceutical development and quality assurance practices.

The program was conducted under the convenorship of Dr. Anil Kumar Tumkur, Principal, SDM College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dharwad. The event was coordinated by Mr. Swaroop Jadhav and Ms. Ashwini M. Kambalyal from the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Chidendra M. Shetter, Registrar, SDM University, Dharwad, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Satyamurty, Research Director, SDM University, Dharwad, was also present and addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of research-oriented learning and industry-academia collaboration.

The introductory session on Quality by Design was delivered by Ms. Ashwini M. Kambalyal, who provided a clear overview of the concept, its principles, and its significance in pharmaceutical product development.

The resource person, Dr. Rahul Koli, Research Scholar at Meril Life Sciences, Vapi, Gujarat, delivered an informative session on the practical implementation of QbD in the pharmaceutical industry. He discussed Quality Target Product Profile (QTPP), Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs), risk assessment, Design of Experiments (DoE), and regulatory expectations and guided through the software alongside, the session was highly interactive and enriched participants' understanding of contemporary pharmaceutical development practices.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of an insightful and educational event.
