The SDM College of Pharmaceutical Sciences successfully organized the Induction Programme for the newly admitted 1st B. Pharmacy (3rd Batch) students for the academic year 2025–2026 on 7th November 2025. The event aimed to introduce the students to the institution, its values, faculty, and academic culture, while motivating them to begin their professional journey in pharmacy with enthusiasm and confidence.

The programme was held at Ishaavasyam at 10:00 am, and was graced by esteemed dignitaries of SDM University:

The event began with a graceful welcome dance by Ms. Preeti, creating an energetic start. Dr. Anil Tumkur Mrutyunjaya, Principal, delivered the welcome address, introducing the vision of the college and motivating students to utilize the academic and cultural opportunities at SDMCOPS.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Niranjan Kumar, highlighted the importance of pharmacy in healthcare, the role of pharmacists in society, and shared practical tips for becoming responsible and disciplined students. His words inspired the freshers.

The professional oath was administered by Mr. Dattatreya Sankagonda. Newly admitted students were introduced by Ms. Nandini P. Sunagar and Ms. Samyakta Bill (lecturers), who encouraged them to pursue their goals sincerely. Faculty members were introduced by Dr. Shishalappa Badami, emphasizing their expertise and dedication.

Ms. Tejaswini, a 3rd Semester student, shared her experiences at SDMCOPS and advised juniors to stay disciplined. Mr. Irappa Gamannavar,a parent, expressed confidence in the institution and appreciation for the faculty.

A “Lucky Dip” activity added excitement as selected students received textbooks. Dr. Anil Kumar T. M. delivered the vote of thanks. The function concluded with the national anthem followed by lunch.

The programme ended with vibrant cultural performances by 1st semester students, showcasing dance, music, and artistic talent, creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone.
