Guest Lecture on World Diabetes Day 2025

SDM College of Pharmaceutical Sciences Hosts Awareness Lecture on World Diabetes Day. The NSS Unit of SDM College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, organized an insightful guest Lecture on 15th November 2025 as part of the World Diabetes Day observance.

The guest speaker for the event, Dr. Kiran Aithal, Vice principal and Head, Dept of Medicine, SDMCMS&H, Dharwad, delivered an engaging and informative talk on “Diabetes Across Different Stages of Life and Its Management.” He explained the rising incidence of diabetes, its presentation in childhood, adulthood, and old age, and the diverse risk factors associated with each age group. He further emphasized lifestyle changes, regular screening, adherence to medications, and the role of health professionals in spreading awareness and supporting patients.

The program served as a valuable learning platform, where students interacted with the speaker, clarified their doubts, and gained a deeper understanding of diabetes from a clinical and public health perspective. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the success and impact of the session.

The event concluded by Ms. Samyakta Bill with words of appreciation and vote of thanks to the resource person and acknowledgment of the efforts of the NSS Unit, teaching staff, and students for their active involvement in making the World Diabetes Day Awareness Program meaningful and impactful.
